VIGolf sits down with Jordan Ray the Director of Golf at the Bear Mountain Golf Resort.

1. Who are your favorite sports teams?

Vancouver Canucks (one of these years it’ll finally be our year)

2. When you’re not focused on your career, what other outside interests are you into?

Spending time with my family and looking after the three kids (7 year old and a pair of 2 year olds). Really that’s enough to keep me busy busy.

3. Where are some of the places in the world you would like to visit (or live) and why?

Living in Victoria is the best place in the world we are so lucky. Being born and raised in Victoria and then moving to Vancouver, Whistler, Calgary, Edmonton, and Radium for school and to build my career really made me realize how good we have it on the island and how lucky we are.

4. What tunes are you rocking on your iPod?

Eclectic to say the least; I like most all music mostly rock with a little top40 and country mixed in.

5. What is your favorite movie(s)?

The Usual Suspects

6. What’s in the bag?

TaylorMade guy and I love my counter balanced spider flat stick even if it doesn’t always work for me lately.

7. Dream Foursome?

I will go kind of boring on that front no celebrities but golf with my Dad and my 7 year old is my perfect golf group.

8. What is your favorite course golf course(s)?

I really do love our Mountain Course. Chateau Whistler is a course I played a lot of golf on when I was younger as is Royal Colwood, both great golf courses that hold a lot of amazing and happy memories for me.

9. Finish the sentence… “When I hit a bad shot I ____________”!

Oh it happens often so don’t get too upset I talk to myself either a “JRay” or “get in the hole”.

10. What do you most enjoy about Vancouver Island?

Everything, our extended family is here and I love being able to do so many active things in the outdoors year round.

11. If you were not doing what you’re doing now, what would you be doing?

I have wanted to be a club pro really since I was a teenager so really not even sure. Don’t think I would do well in an office all day so something working with people and being active/outdoors would do.

12. What is your most memorable round of golf?

First time I beat my Dad, was about 14 and I could tell he was both mad and proud.
