Jared Du Toit makes pro debut this week in Victoria

Victoria, British Columbia (VIGolf.ca) – Fresh off of a four-year college career at the Arizona State University, 23-year old Jared Du Toit will be making his professional debut this week at the Bayview Place Cardtronics Open at the Uplands Golf Club in Victoria.

Du Toit, who announced his decision to turn pro last Thursday at the Royal Montreal Golf Club during the Golf Canada National Amateur Team’s media day, was the 15th ranked amateur in the world according to the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

“Seeing guys like Mackenzie Hughes, Nick Taylor, Albin Choi and all those guys work their way up through the Mackenzie Tour, that’s the way of doing things and something I’m looking forward to trying that out”, said Du Toit who won the 2015 British Columbia Men’s Amateur Championship at the Fairview Mountain Golf Course in Oliver.

The Kimberley B.C. native, made a name for himself last year when put himself into he earned a spot in the final pairing to win the RBC Canadian Open . Du Toit, who received a sponsors exemption this week has also received a sponsors exemption into the Mackenzie Tour – PGA Tour Canada Golf BC Championship next week in Kelowna at the Gallaghers Canyon Golf Club.
